Great Hall Theatrical Experiences is holding auditions for their upcoming jazz-inspired, 1920’s-themed, family-friendly musical BUMS! Each cast member will be given a $100 honorarium. They are looking to double cast the show, so a lot of roles are available. No previous experience in acting, dancing, or singing required – just a willingness to dive in and help tell a fun and meaningful story.  Go to https://bumsthemusical.com/ to fill out an audition form, to submit an online audition, and for more information.

The show, directed by Matthew Davis, will run at the Angelus Theatre in Spanish Fork from March 15th – 27th. Rehearsals will begin on January 18th and will be almost every weeknight (from 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM) and Saturday morning (from 9:00 – 12:00 PM).(Exact dates and times are subject to change.) There may be some flexibility with rehearsal and performance dates.

You may audition virtually or in person. All applicants will need to upload a head shot (photos taken from a phone are fine) and prepare 16 bars of upbeat music to sing to accompaniment (a karaoke track on Youtube is fine). If you’d like to audition virtually, you’ll need to record a video of you singing or performing a monologue. If you’d like to audition in person, be sure to reserve a time slot on the online audition form.

In 1929, a daydreaming businessman named Edward feels trapped in his drab routines. Then he crosses paths with a homeless man named Dirty Dan, who shows Edward a world of unstructured freedom. But going against the grain brings on the resistance of Edward’s fiancee, his family, and the corporate world. Why won’t society just let him be a bum?
